Simple Things is the debut studio album by Zero 7, released on 23 April 2001. It peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart, staying in the chart for 56 weeks. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Zero 7 are an English musical duo consisting of Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker. They began as studio engineers and in 1997 formed the group Zero 7. Their debut album, Simple Things, was released in 2001. Subsequent albums include When It Falls, The Garden, and Yeah Ghost.

Never fear, randy music lovers- Zero 7 is here with an album-length homage to Air's notorious makeout soundtrack. I use the word 'homage', though I could just as easily use the phrase blatant freaking ripoff. Zero 7 use the same instrumentation (organic drums, bass, guitar bed with lotsa Rhodes and synth), get the same production sound (front-and-center melodic smooooov bass), and explore the same saucy thematic territory.

Simple Things Lyrics. It's an easy ride, to roam You'll never walk, alone Naturally, we blew Simple things, we say. Everyday, we'll find the way. Seems like we've opened up the door Feels like we've walked this way before. Naturally, we blew Simple things, you say. Everyday, you'll find the way It amazes Everyday.

Fantastic pressing and a wonderful remastering job. As many times as I had listened to this I'm hearing stuff I haven't heard before. Great vinyl on an outstanding classic record. Kudos!
Just a semantics comment: Not a "repress", as someone entered for this entry. This 2018 version's matrices are totally different than the 2015 Warner (EU) version's. THAT one was cut at Abbey Road (making it a re-cut/reissue of the original 2001 issue), but not this one. So, "reissue" would be the proper term for the 2018 ish ; it's from the latest and third lacquer cutting.Would someone please compare the sonics of these two reissues? I'm leaning toward the OOP, 2015 ish just for its gatefold sleeve, as opposed to this cheap, postcard stock, single sleeve. Is the former's now inflated price worth the trouble?
Finally got a copy of this reissue and I must say that this is an excellent sounding record! Clean, flat, and crisp. My copy had 2 different inner sleeves btw.
Lots of good reviews of Warner's 2015 Abbey Road cut / MPO pressed "Simple Things", which the price has increased for.Any thoughts on the mastering and pressing quality for this 2018 New State pressing?
It’s pretty great. If you can find a copy it’s leaps better than the CD version.
The identical inner sleeves were probably a mistake. Mine has two different ones, like the previous pressings, but with some updated info.
How limited is this? It's sold out in barely any store that had it
This repress is already sold out at most webshops, 1 week after release.

Excellent pressing! Almost no surface noice and very warm sound! My copy came with two of the same inner sleeves though.
Just bought a copy today and the two inner sleeves are different, only one has the track listing.
Same issue, both discs are in sleeves for disc 1. I wonder if this counts as a misprint?
I ordered a replacement copy from Amazon, and that one has two of the same inner sleeves as well. Guess it’s supposed to be that way then.
Same inner sleeves here as well with my copy !
Hopefully this wasn't manufactured by a dodgy pressing plant... Someone please share the runout info.
Why would you be suspicious of that? Has it happened with Zero 7 releases previously?
