Am Universum is Tuonela with a few new chorus hooks and a slightly more bloodied coat of paint. It's their most suitable album for jukebox play at the local drinking hole, a soundtrack to broken hearts and fist fights and drunken stupors that are all delivered through its still-present adherence to the lessons of Finnish yore. With Am Universum, Amorphis have once again progressed their sound. The inherit progression of Amorphis has always come naturally, and at this point in their evolutional stage, Amorphis are more Prog Rock than Metal. Don't be alarmed though, this is still an amazing CD that most Metal fans will like.

Am Universum is that album that you may like or dislike depending on the mood you're in. If you are in the "critic" mood, you will find that the album is kinda boring, the band is wasting talent and most of the time you won't find any joy (specially on the second half of the album) - on the other hand if you want to listen to something light and you don't feel like being in the middle of. a very well made guitar riff and good solos, you may find something to like the album because it has catchy songs, catchy moments and well, if you forget that it says Amorphis on the.

Am Universum ‎(LP, Album, Promo, W/Lbl). Nuclear Blast, Nuclear Blast.

If we focus primarily on the non-bastardized jazz elements, like keyboards, rhythm section, or especially the guitar, then the album is Amorphis' crown jewel for creative composition. The album kicks off with the gentle keys and happy harmonics we've come to expect from the band with "Alone.

Am Universum is the fifth album by heavy metal band Amorphis. This album was a departure from the doom/stoner metal influence on their previous album, Tuonela, featuring more of a vocal-driven progressive rock sound.
