3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life O. .is the debut album by American hip hop group Arrested Development, released on March 24, 1992 stood in stark contrast to the gangsta rap that ruled the hip hop charts in 1992 (such as Dr. Dre's The Chronic), in its focus on spirituality, peace and love.

Arrested Development. Produced by Speech People Everyday Lyrics. A remix of it reached the top 10 in six countries including a peak in the UK and in the US. It was nominated for a Grammy in 1992 and won Best Rap Video at the 1993 MTV Music Video Awards. Todd Speech Thomas was inspired to write the song based on his experiences of having different views on black culture than those in his neighborhood. hey understood they were black, but for them black was jheri-curls, it was pimping.

Another excellent album, after Paris’ equally impressive debut The Devil Made Me Do It. It’s a mystery why Paris never blew up like Ice Cube and Public Enemy did – he does the same and he does it just as well. Intelligent, militant, powerful – Paris dropped some classic material here. Top tracks: The Days Of Old Make Way For A Panther Assata’s Song Sleeping With The Enemy. 17. Boogie Down Productions - Sex And Violence. This album can be seen as one of the cornerstones of the unfortunate trap trend we are experiencing now, but in 1992 it still was somewhat original – and UGK really had a dope sound. The lyrics are mostly about criminal enterprises (before that subject matter got really tired), the difference between UGK and most acts that would follow, clone them is that UGK makes it sound GOOD.

1992: On March 24, 1992, Atlanta hip-hop group Arrested Development ushered in a budding era of alternative rap with their debut album, 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life o.With heavy folk and spiritual influences, Arrested Development brought a sound that was completely different than the gangsta rap dominating the airwaves at the time. In addition to the musical differences, most of Arrested Development's lyrical content focused on black unity, love and compassion. The title of the EMI Records album is a nod to the amount of time it took the group to secure their record deal.

Arrested Development – 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of (1992) Along with De La Soul, Arrested Development ’s rise in 1992 heralded an alternative to the reigning gangsta rap. Their debut album, 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days In the Life O. boosted by hit MTV videos for Tennessee and Mr. Wendal launched the group to two Grammys (Best Rap Album, Best New Artist) and millions in sales. The songs were an original fusion of hip-hop, blues, soul and funk with an easy Southern vibe.

Thee Album - Redman (1992) 38. Don Killuminati: The 7-Day Theory - 2Pac/Makaveli (1996) 39. Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version - Ol' Dirty Bastard (1995) 40. It Was Written - Nas (1996) 4. Life - . - Arrested Development (1992) Uptown Saturday Night - Camp Lo (1997) Blacks' Magic - Salt-N-Pepa.

cflashbacks ・・・ July 18, 1992 - "Tennessee" by Arrested Development peaked at N. on the Hot 100. It was taken from their album 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of. Speech, group leader, was inspired to write the song after meeting up with his brother at his grandmother's funeral in Tennessee. Shortly afterwards, his brother died suddenly from a bad asthma attack, and Speech wrote the song about the experience of losing two loved ones so close together
