Northern Uproar are an English rock band formed in Stockport in 1995. They then disbanded in 1999. The band reunited in 2006 and recorded two more studio albums and a live album. They have released four studio albums and a number of singles, several of which charted in the UK Singles Chart. Their biggest selling single was the double A-side "From A Window/This Morning", which peaked in the UK's Top 20 in February 1996.
As Northern Uproar's single, 'From A Window' shunted its way to number 17, the future appeared in a haze of blinding brilliance. The musicality has sufficiently broadened and guitars lines entwine to striking effec. nd throughout the album. Fact is, three plays in and I cannot find filler. No song here trails in the shadows; no song appears to lack the exuberance that kicks in with the immediacy of opener, 'There's A Place'.

Throughout their career, the Northern Uproar toured with the Prodigy, Paul Weller, Cast, Black Grape, the Blue tones and the Charlatans. They recorded two albums with Heavenly and released a string of top-40 singles including From a Window, Livin’ It Up and Anyway You Look. The band split in 1999, but reformed in 2004. Fletcher left the group last year. Northern Uproar released their fourth album, All That Was Has Gone in 2013.
Northern Uproar (album) – Northern Uproar is the self-titled debut album by British Britpop band Northern Uproar. Recording took place at Monnow Valley, dave Eringa produced every song on the album, and co-produced From a Window, Rough Boy, Town, Memories and Rollercoaster with Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield. Bradfield provided backing vocals to From a Window, Rough Boy, Town, Kicks, Breakthrough, Memories, Waiting On, Livin It Up, Rollercoaster, martin Green arranged the strings on My Town . Northern Uproar’s fourth studio album ‘ All That Was Has Gone’ was the last album Leon and guitarist Chris would write with Jeff Fletcher who was tragically killed in a road accident in 2014. Following Jeff’s passing, Leon took control of songwriting duties assisted by Chris, resulting in latest album ‘Hey Samurai!’ This album marks a departure from the band’s original sound as they embrace Spanish influences and explore Latin rhythms to create an utterly unique, beautiful and highly accomplished collection of songs, marking a new chapter for these hugely talented and versatile musicians.
