Early tracks from a previous release, ‘Impact’ and ‘Point’ are the weakest tracks on the album, possibly because they were written at a spatially different time or dynamic. Whatever the reason, they strike a chord of mismatch with the rest of the album, chiefly in the bass lines, which fail to have the boppy, rolling characteristics that underly the rest of the tracks. This is remedied by the wonderful ‘Everybody Knows’, filled out with a group chorus and a bridge that would make even the staunchest of military men break out a smile, this track is more indicative of the direction of Tremolow.
The Creases are an Australian indie rock band formed in Brisbane in April 2013. Initially a duo, with Joe Agius on lead vocals and guitar and Jarod Mahon on bass guitar and vocals; they were joined in October by Aimon Clark on lead guitar and Bridie McQueen on drums. In 2014 McQueen was replaced on drums by Gabriel Webster. They performed at Australian festivals and supported gigs by Franz Ferdinand. The band issued their five-track, first extended play, Gradient, in July 2014

The eagerly awaited album will be released on August 4, via (the very excited team at) Liberation. Twelve tracks in total, Tremolow clocks in at a glorious 47 minutes, and sees the Brisbane band a little older, a tiny bit wiser, undeniably more confident and assured, but no less spontaneous, affable or fun. Over the years – from the release of their first single ‘I Won’t Wait’ via Rough Trade – The Creases’ music has transitioned into something uniquely identifiable: youthful, great-haired indie rock ‘n’ roll, underpinned by award-winning songwriting. Along with their debut album release, the next few months hold plenty to look forward to for The Creases. Tonight, the band kick off a national tour in support of Bad//Dreems, whilst next month they’ll open for Two Door Cinema Club at the band’s headline shows around Splendour.
