You're a Better Man Than I" was originally the B-side of "Shapes of Things" (see No. 2 on our list of the Top 10 Yardbirds Songs) and turned up as the lead track on the band's second . album, 'Having a Rave Up With the Yardbirds. From: 'Having a Rave Up With the Yardbirds' (1965). Like with their cover of "The Train Kept A-Rollin" (see No. 7 on our list of the Top 10 Yardbirds Songs), the group completely owned an old R&B cut (this one written and recorded by Bo Diddley in 1955)
The album yielded the smash hit single ‘Over, Under, Sideways, Down’ and other exciting performances such as ‘The Nazz Are Blue’ and ‘Jeff’s Boogie’, spotlighting ace guitar legend Jeff Beck, whose experimental and pioneering use of Fuzz and Sustain effects brought a new dimension to the sound of rock. This album is essential for Yardbirds and Jeff Beck fans alike, and indeed for all collectors of classic 60s pop. Tracklist. CD 1: the mono album. 01. Lost Woman 02. Over, Under, Sideways, Down 03.
