Lunch with Soupy Sales began in 1953 from the studios of WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, located in the historic Maccabees Building, in Detroit. Sales occasionally took the studio cameras to the lawn of the Detroit Public Library, located across the street from the TV studios, and talked with local students walking to and from school. Sales signed with Motown Records in 1969 releasing a single, "Muck-Arty Park" (a play on the 1968 hit "MacArthur Park"), as well as an album A Bag of Soup. Soupy and Frank Nastasi also cut and recorded a comedy and song story disk "Spy With A Pie" for ABC/Paramount Game shows. From 1968–75, Sales was a regular panelist on the syndicated revival of What's My Line?. He had been a guest panelist on one episode of the original version in 1965.
Not that Soupy Sales doesn't have soul, he just comes from an entirely different universe, and this is meant not only to describe his sense of humour but the milieu of a children's television show as opposed to a recording project.

Day (or 5 if you prefer). This is an actual photo of an actual letter written to me by a student. Teachers get these quite often, and I would encourage any teacher to keep at least one of these "you're the best" letters in their teaching bag for a day when they feel like a failure. This one is rather special because it comes from a girl named Lucy who was in my first ever class as a teacher ool, she wrote again. So my specific thanks today goes to you Lucy
