The Rolling Stones No. 2 is the second UK studio album by the Rolling Stones released in 1965 following the massive success of 1964's debut The Rolling Stones. It followed its predecessor's tendency to largely feature R&B covers. However, it does contain three compositions from the still-developing Mick Jagger/Keith Richards songwriting team

First cat. no. on cover, second on label. First pressing with ''unboxed'' red/silver Decca label with the ear logo at 2 o'clock. Upper label rim states ''Made in England''. 2 ‎(LP, Album, Mono).

It uses the same David Bailey cover shot that had graced the . issued 12 X 5 album two and a half months earlier, but only four songs - "Under the Boardwalk," "Suzie Q," "Grown Up Wrong," and "Time Is on My Side" - overlap on the two albums.

The Rolling Stones No. 2. The Rolling Stones. About The Rolling Stones No. The Rolling Stones No. 2 Q&A. 2 and its North American counterpart 12x5 were essentially 2 sides of the same coin. The songs were both recorded in the same sessions, and released within less than a year of one another. Even the cover arts that were used for both albums were taken in the same photo session. The reason I mention this is because this translates musically as well. The Americans and Brits may have ended up with different products, but at least they heard something similar to the album they were missing out on. The two albums do have a major musical difference however. Where 12x5 had an almost even balance between covers and original tracks, No. 2 is almost entirely covers, with only 3 out of the 12 tracks actually written by members of the group as opposed to artists before the Stones’ time. 2 is the second studio album by The Rolling Stones, released in 1965. Like their debut album, this album mainly consists of covers, although this time there are three Jagger/Richards compositions. According to Bill Wyman, John Lennon said of it "The album's great, but I don't like five-minute numbers". 12 X 5 is their second American album, released in 1964. It basically consists of their second EP Five By Five as well as songs from No. 2 and singles of the era. The Rolling Stones, Now! is their third American album, released in 1965
