Place your vote on the top 10 list of Best The Rolling Stones Albums. For me it is the most interesting Rolling Stones album.

In 1974, many had declared the Stones a spent force, a relic of the faded ‘60s generation that even your parents were sick of hearing about. It’s not that the kids were all wrong, but ‘It’s Only Rock’n’Roll’ proved there was life in the old dog yet. What’s more, on the evidence of opener ‘If You Can’t Rock Me’, it hadn’t grown tired of shagging everything in sight, either. After breaking open the ‘70s with two of the best albums ever, the Stones came down, moved to Jamaica and made a glam-funk album. It’s the kind of fuck-it-all logic that probably explains their longevity. Viewed by some as a ‘Be Here Now’-style creative crash, ‘Goat’s Head Soup’ is ballad-heavy but filler-free, setting the tone for the group’s next decade and even inventing a kind of psych-infused proto-disco in ‘100 Years Ago’.

The Rolling Stones is the debut album by the Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on 16 April 1964. The album is included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

The best moments on Dirty Work come when the atmosphere of intra-band animosity in which it was recorded is channelled into the music: One Hit (to the Body) and Winning Ugly fizz with nasty energy. Elsewhere, it’s lifeless, and the period production on Back to Zero has dated abysmally. Photograph: PR handout. 11. Rolling Stones No 2 (1965). The early 60s blues scene was a purists’ movement, but their second album demonstrates how eclectic and boundary-blurring the early Stones were, boldly defining a space of their own somewhere between blues, rock’n’roll and soul, amping up the pace and the attitude of each to thrilling effect. 10. Blue & Lonesome (2016). At the point where even the most committed fan despaired of them ever making an unequivocally great album again, they did.

14) The Rolling Stones No. 2 (1965). This feet-finding exercise ostensibly captured the Stones living their dream (recording at Chess Studios in Chicago and RCA in Hollywood between dates on their debut US tour). Yet their first taste of America was not quite as sweet as they may have hoped.

As the following list of Rolling Stones Albums Ranked Worst to Best makes clear, the Stones really are a band of wealth and taste. We’re not talking money or that iconic tongue logo; this is about the group's armload of album releases, dating back to 1964. There are a lot of them (24 by our method – more on that in a minute), and the vast majority range from pretty good to phenomenally classic. Even the bad Stones records manage to showcase a consistency, drive and tunefulness worthy of their creators

1971) This album represents the Rolling Stones’ Magnum Opus. Reason: no other album has a sum total collection of songs that matches gemstones such as Brown Sugar, Sway, Wild Horses, Can’t you Hear Me Knocking, Bitch, I Got The Blues, or Moonlight Mile. These compositions are the Stones at their absolute creative peak, not to mention the innovative, groundbreaking, and to many parents, shocking pants zipper cover. And Rolling Stone’s 500 greatest albums list includes quite a few. Although as with all best of lists, they are many arguable choices in there, I think they got it right putting Exile on Main St as the best Rolling Stones album at It’s a double album, so twice as much music for your pick :-). It has some great songs of course, and quite a bit of variation which isn’t the case with all Stones albums.
